MUST READ: OPENING LETTER

Finally!

This has been one of the most difficult processes I have gone through in my life. I am an analog guy stuck in a digital world. I have struggled to learn how to use ChatGPT. It has real limitations when it comes to writing a book and saving material, but it is the only platform I have learned to use.

By God’s grace, I met a young man named Jacob, who attends high school in The Villages. He is extremely intelligent and capable, and he thrives in the digital world. Jacob has accepted very reasonable compensation for the help he has given me. I am proud to be associated with him, and I recommend him to anyone who needs help with a website or other digital application.

The website is now virtually up and running. There will still be changes and more material added, but it is ready for friends to preview. I have even learned that the little square with the marks inside it is called a QR code. I had never used one and never planned to, but I am slowly submitting to the digital world. Jacob will have his code on the website, so anyone who needs his help can use it to contact him.

Where to Begin

The first book I recommend is The Scales Fail. It contains the final lesson—the lesson of life—that I hope readers will consider.

Then read The Book of Ron. Its parables and stories gather wisdom meant to help us understand how to walk through life.

The Political Dispatches offer thoughtful discussion based on factual references and the moral and civic responsibilities found in Scripture. My intent is to encourage people to think, without antagonism or falsehood.

The cartoon section presents stories in a quick, visual way. I hope readers will find a few nuggets of wisdom there, too.

How This Work Grew

When I began writing, I wanted to leave wisdom for my granddaughters for the day I would no longer be here. As the work grew, I realized the stories might also help people understand one another, strengthen relationships, and perhaps help prevent a divorce—or help people find peace after one. I came to see that the book was, in many ways, an operator’s manual for myself. That led me to imagine a workbook that could help two people better understand each other’s personalities and feelings.

I later wrote When the Scales Fall. I first thought it would point readers toward a political application. After I finished it and read it several times, I realized its lesson reached much deeper. I came to believe it was the answer to life. That lesson will appear in the Book of Ron and will also be posted on its own.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that God inspired me to write this. I have tried to submit to Him in every way I know how. I hope this work will be beneficial to you. It has been beneficial to me.

Thank you for reading. May God guide your paths and bless your families.

Semper Fidelis,
Ron
